Promoting young talent
Students and young researchers are the archaeologists of tomorrow. It is a core concern of Swiss Archaeology to support these young scientists and to involve them in the Society’s activities. Swiss Archaeology has created various instruments for this purpose.
Student member on the SA Board
In 2020, Swiss Archaeology anchored the representation of a student on the Board of Swiss Archaeology in the association’s statutes.
Prix Archéologie Suisse
Since 2020, Swiss Archaeology has awarded the Prix Archéologie Suisse every two years to a student who has made a special contribution to the field of archaeology. The prize comes with a prize money of CHF 1500 and the opportunity to publish in an SA print or online medium.
Prix AS 2023

Der Prix AS 2023 wurde an der Generalversammlung von AS am 16. Juni 2023 in Schaffhausen verliehen.
Prix AS 2020
Camille Linder (Université Neuchâtel), master’s thesis «Les collections archéologiques du Canton du Jura : Historique et reflexions sur leur valorisation»
The Prix AS 2020 was awarded at the SA General Assembly on 19 June 2021 in Olten.
Annual memberships EAA
The Annual Meetings of the European Association of Archaeologists EAA are the largest European congresses in the field of archaeology. Membership of the EAA is required in order to register to attend the congresses.
As a Corporate Member of the EAA, SA benefits from several annual memberships. SA promotes young researchers in Switzerland by awarding three of these memberships to speakers at the Annual Meeting. The call is addressed to young researchers whose participation in the congress is not covered by the institution or the project. Announcements will be published here in January.
