Each of the four annual issues of arCHaeo Suisse is dedicated to a current focus topic. In addition, there are various sections in the magazine: Tips for excursions in «Erleben», news from the cantons in «arCHaeo aktuell», a very special find in «Fundstück» or current events in the «Schaufenster».
Our authors write in German, French or Italian and address their contributions to a broad and diverse audience interested in archaeology. Summaries and image captions are translated into the other two national Swiss languages.
The journal arCHaeo Suisse is published in four printed issues per year and can either be subscribed to or obtained in single issues. For members of Swiss Archaeology, all issues are included in the membership fee. Immediately after publication, the issues are also accessible in Diamond Open Access on Zenodo. Past issues are archived on the e-periodica platform.
Subscribe to arCHaeo Suisse
An annual subscription to arCHaeo Suisse is valid for one calendar year and costs CHF 48 (Switzerland) or CHF 63 (abroad). It includes four issues of 50 pages each (March, June, September, December).
If you subscribe during the current calendar year: The subscription begins on the order date and costs CHF 12 per issue still to be published. (Additional postage and handling fees apply for shipping abroad.)
The invoice is enclosed with the first issue of each year. Without written notice of cancellation at the end of the calendar year, the subscription is automatically renewed for a further year.
You can also order single issues of arCHaeo Suisse. A single issue costs 12.- CHF (plus shipping costs).

The authors receive the right to freely dispose of the PDF of their article immediately after publication.

Exhibition portrait
arCHaeo Suisse has created the exhibition portrait especially for the announcement of museum exhibitions. On a double or single page, you can advertise your temporary or permanent exhibition at an attractive price. The text of about 4500 characters (incl. spaces) and the 2-3 illustrations allow the reader an in-depth insight into your exhibition. With illustration legends and summaries (translated by the editors) in the two other national languages, potential visitors from other parts of the country can also be addressed.
